Graeme Tobyn examines some aspects of the transmission of knowledge of herbal medicines through key writers and texts from the beginning of the Common Era in Ancient Rome via medieval Anglo-Saxons and the great Arab scholars to the School of Salerno in the twelfth century and the introduction of Graeco-Arab learning into Christian Europe.
